Description

Gift with warranty from Thomas Butyler of Couyntre and Thomas Whytere of Couyntre to William Elyot of 3 shillings annual rent to be taken from one croft in Yeuelshawe called le Hethcroft, which the grantors held by gift and feoffment of Cecile lately the wife of John waryng; to hold for ever, receiving the said rent at the two customary terms, with the right of distraint if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears at any of the said terms. Dated at Toneworth', Sunday after the feast of St James the Apostle,14 Richard II. Witnesses: Henry de Sidenhale, John Fullewode, Thomas atte Berne, John de Yeuelshawe, John Notehurst and others. Circular seal of black wax on tag, 3/4 in., the letter R with sprigs of foliage. Hexagonal seal of black wax on tag, 3/4 in., a bird.
