Description

Lease for the lives of the lessees with warranty from the Prior and convent of Maxstoke to Roger Symond' of Thoneworth' and Joan his wife of a messuage with an adjacent curilage in Thoneworth', being situated next to the cemetery of the said church on the south side; to hold during the term of their lives rendering annually 12 pence rent [2 terms]; the said Roger and Joan to be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the buildings belonging to the said messuage at their own expense during the said term and to pay heriot to the said Prior and convent after the death of the said Roger or Joan, whichever died first; the said Prior and convent to have the right of distraint if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears six weeks beyond any of the said terms or if the buildings were not kept in good repair and the right of re-entry if the said Roger or Joan alienated any of the said property to anyone else without the permission of the said Prior and convent.
