Description

Gift from William Brokhurst of Hulueley [Ulverley Green in Solihull] and John Middelmore of Solyhull' to John Notehurst of Solyhull' of all lands and tenements in Toneworthe with meadows, woods, feedings, pastures, hedges and ditches, excepting one field called Newelond', which the grantors held by gift and feoffment of the said John Notehurst; to hold for the term of his life without impeachment for waste from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service and upon the death of the said John to pass to Thomas Notehurst and Alice his wife and their lawful issue or in default of such issue to revert to the rightful heirs of the said John for ever. Dated at Toneworthe on the Vigil of St Thomas the Apostle, 1 Henry VI. Witnesses: Thomas Grene, Thomas Archer, John Fulwode, John Phelippes, Thomas atte Wyle and others. Circular seal of red wax on tag, 3/4 in., a falcon trussing a goat. Endorsed: [late 16th or early 17th cent] Tanworthe Latin, parchment, 12.75 x 4.75 ins., indented.
