Description

Gift from William Brokhurst of Hyluerley [ Ulverley Green in Solihull] to John Notehurst of Sulihull' the younger and Alice his wife, daughter of Robert Hethe, and the lawful issue of the said John of a field of land in Toneworth' called le Newelond', lying in length between the road called Herdeman skye and the field called Harryoteslond' and in breadth between the field called Rombussh' and the land of William Brokhurst of Fosshaw which land the grantor lately held with John Fulford' and John Middelmore, deceased, by the gift and feoffment of John Notehurst the elder; to hold the same to the said John and Alice and the lawful issue of the said John from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service or in default of such issue to revert to the said John Notehurst the elder and his heirs and assigns. Dated at Toneworth', Thursday before the feast of St Margaret the virgin, 9 Henry VI. Witnesses: Thomas Waryng' of Toneworth', Thomas Grene of Sulihull', William Hall of Norton', John Stragne, Thomas Notehurst and others. Circular seal of red wax on tag, 1/2 in., the letter B crowned between two sprigs of foliage.
