Description

Gift with warranty from John Seel of Toneworth' to John Folewod' of the same of one field in Toneworth' called Dungefeld' in exchange for one field called Buttokesfeld', lying in length between the highway leading from the house of the said John Seel towards the mill of Toneworth' on the one hand and one field called Stoneyfeld' on the other and lying in breadth between the said road on the one hand and the highway leading from Codbarwe towards Botteley on the other; to hold for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service. Dated at Toneworth', Monday after the Nativity of Our Lord, 17 Henry VI. Witnesses: Thomas Sydenhale of Toneworth', William Parker of the same, William Bentford of the same, William Sherdemore of the same, John Holyok' of the same and others. Circular seal of red wax on tag, 1 in., seated figure of the Virgin and child within a decorated Gothic panel with the head, shoulders and upraised arms of an adoring figure in part of another panel below.
