Edgar Innes Fripp

Description

Large collection of literary and historical papers, mainly relating to Stratford and Shakespeare, together with original manuscript works and lecture notes etc., of Edgar Innes Fripp (1861-1931), author of 'Shakespeare's Stratford',' Shakespeare's Haunts', 'Shakespeare Studies', 'Master Richard Quyney' and 'Shakespeare, Man and Artist', and editor of the first four volumes of 'Minutes and Accounts of the Stratford-upon-Avon Corporation'. Fripp also contributed numerous articles to The Architect, Notes and Queries and other journals. Much of the material cannot be dated precisely: some lecture notes date back to 1897 but most of his original research work on Shakespeare was done after 1920 and the inclusive 'c.1910-1931' has been used for entries where no other information is given.
