Bonds and receipts: Cookes family of Tardebigge

Bond from Richard Scarlett of Hampton Magna, Worcs., yeoman, John Scarlett of Newnam, Aston Cauntley, yeoman, and Robert Scarlett of Stratford-upon-Avon to Thomas Cookes of Bentley Pauncefoote of Tardebigge, Worcs., gent., in the penal sum of £ 40 to ensure payment of £ 20 by the said Richard, John and Robert to the said Thomas by 4 February 1633. Dated 2 August 8 Charles I, 1632. Signed: Richard Scarlatt, John Scarlet, Robert Scarlet. Witnesses: Edward Cookes, Foulke Bellers, Mary Disonn, Edward Woodwards, Francise Wadley. Memorandum that this bond was taken for the use, benefit and behooffe of Mary Ann and Alice Cookes, daughters and co-heirs of John Cookes, gentleman, deceased, with the consent of Edward Cookes esq. and Foulke Bellars, witnesses hereunto and of William Edmondes as the same Fulke testifieth who procured the chapman for the money.
