Attested Copies of Lease and Release: Alveston and Buckingham

Attested copies of Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 8th. April 1776 whereby Thomas Higgins theretofore of Buckingham but then of Banbury, ironmonger and Ann, his wife (late Ann Baker spinster one of the three daughters and counterpart-heiress of John Baker theretofore of Buckingham, mercer deceased also one of the two surviving sisters of Martha Baker of the same place, spinster a deceased intestate) conveyed to Mary Baker of Buckingham, widow, hereditaments in Alveston and Buckingham more particularly therin described subject to a proviso for redemption upon repayment of £942. Covenant by Thomas Higgins and Ann his wife to Levy a Fine to the said Mary Baker. Witnesses: Thomas Nearn and William Sanders. Attested the 29th. April 1789 by John G. Smith and Richard Knibbs, clerk to William Mount. Lease by Thomas Higgins and Ann his wife to Mary Baker of the same premises for one year. Witnessed as before. Attested the 11th April 1788 by John Barnhurst and Samuel Oliver Hunt. See also ER3/2996-2997.
