Boanerges Barnabas judgement and mercy: or, Wine and oyle for wounded and afflicted soules. In two parts. By Fra: Quarles.

General note: Part 2 of this work was published in 1644 in an unauthorized edition with title "Barnabas and Boanerges". Subsequenty the two parts were published separately (and later together) with title "Barnabas and Boanerges" or "Boanerges and Barnabas" by which latter title the entire work eventually became known. The words "judgement and mercy" and "wine and oyle" are bracketed together on title page. With additional engraved title page reading: Iudgment and mercy for afflicted soules. Part 2 has separate dated title page reading: "Barnabas, or, The compassionate Samaritan, pouring oyle into wounded spirits. The second part"; text and register are continuous despite pagination.
