Dutch oak clothes press

Description

A mid 17th-century Dutch oak clothes press; the heavy moulded cornice above a frieze carved with nulling centred and flanked by carved lion masks and supported on three fluted doric pilasters, the centre one mounted on one of a pair of three-panelled doors, the panels heavily moulded and with moulded framework; the base carved with rectangular lozenges and lunettes; the sides also panelled and moulded; Dutch, about 1650; base mouldings and feet now missing; interior fittings possibly removed.
