Mulberry-wood box carved by John Marshall (1817-1887) about 1850-1887; lid carved with motif based on Shakespeare coat of arms, surrounded by berries and leaves and bearing the inscription 'MY FORTUNES HERE. GIVE ME THE KEY FOR THIS AND INSTANTLY UNLOCK'. engraved on the edge of the lid 'I. MARSHALL carver STRATFORD ON AVON'.
