Three from a set of nine decorative Liverpool tiles depicting theatrical performers of the late 18th century; red on white background; set in wooden frame. David Garrick as John Brute in Vanbrugh's 'The Provok'd Wife' (from a print by I. Taylor in Lowndes' 'New English Theatre' dated 1776); Mrs. Yates as Lady Townley in Vanburgh's 'The Provok'd Husband' (from a print in Bell's 'British Theatre' by Thornthwaite after Roberts, dated 24 November 1776); Mrs. Cibber as Monimia in Thomas Otway's play 'Don Carlos Prince of Spain'.
