Coopered tankard

Description

Coopered tankard with hinged top; top of vessel bound with fine split cane (2mm), the base with wider split cane (7mm); the body of alternate dark (beech?) and light (sycamore?) staves; the lid is flat and hinged onto a carved D-shaped handle; the top of the lid is carved around the perimiter with a denticular decoration.
