Cauldron

Description

Sixteenth or seventeenth-century cauldron; cast copper-alloy from a two-piece mould; three legs in the form of inverted bird's claws - raised decoration; sag-based body with slightly concave bottom and flared rim flange; founder's mark 'M' in relief on body; the base has old repair with a circular copper disc rivetted in place; on either side of rim/body are angular lug handles.
