Man's gloves

Description

Gloves, c. 1600-1650. Pair of man's gloves made from sandy-coloured leather, with deep cuffs of ivory silk satin embroidered with flowers, stems and leaves in coloured silk threads with decorative spangles, and with the edges trimmed with metal threads incorporating metal spangles/sequins. A ruched band of pink silk, trimmed with metal thread and spangles, divides the leather component of the glove from the embroidered cuff. Cuffs are lined with pink silk.
