Barrel stand

Description

A 17th or 18th century chestnut stillage (barrel-stand); the main bearers curved to support a barrel; linked by two rails and supported on four staked feet; English, 1600-1800; all surfaces prepared by adzing and shaped by draw-knife; worm damage to sapwood.
