Warming pan

Description

A seventeenth-century warming pan; copper bottom, brass lip and hinged lid; pattern of circles punched in lid, with worn Tudor rose in centre; a circle of iron joined to the handle by rivets supports the pan under the rim; two copper rivets join the hinge to the handle and three join it to the lid; the base was renewed in antiquity, the lid has been split by rivets.
