South Italian wet drug jar

Description

A South Italian wet drug jar, seventeenth century; brightly painted with yellow ground laurel cartouche inscribed with drug name O.DI.AMADOLEAR (bitter oil of almonds, skin lotion) and MAF on handle; pattern of circles on handle; bulbous shape with wide mouth and ringed foot; glaze worn at handle and spout tip; crazing around spout and base; chips on ring.
