Description

A nineteenth-century lace-pillow and stand; cylindrical pillow stuffed with hay/straw and covered in oiled cloth with natural coloured linen half cover; loose cotton cover on top held in place by a half band of leather with lace pattern on it; stand of painted wood with curved front piece and hooped back; hoop secured to back legs with two wooden struts; three legged; pins in lace pattern with piece of lace attached. wooden stand with twelve brass decorative studs. From inventory taken on 14.7.2011, it appears this description includes two lace making pillows and stands and is a re-numbering of 1970-3, see images.
