Hornbook

Description

A 16th century wooden hornbook; rectangular piece of wood with signs of a broken off handle at the bottom; in the centre on one side is an incised W.S. or W.B.; on the front of the book are 20 small nail or tack holes, one with the tack still present; very worn especially at corners; it is enclosed in a glass and wooden frame.
