Description

A mid 16th century oak chest; the rectangular three-panel lid with moulded frame, the front with four linenfold panels in moulded framework; the ends each with two plain panels; original wrought iron shaped keyplate and wire hinges; English, c.1550; later pine bracing to base and one wrought iron corner brace to front.
