Sampler

Description

Sampler, c. 1675 - 1700. Long and narrow rectangular sampler, probably of linen, and worked in coloured threads with principal colours being blue, green, pink. Sampler is worked to just over half its length with embroidered rows featuring various plant motifs using a variety of stitches, mainly cross stitch. Lower part of the sampler features rows of white work and drawn thread work.
