Description

A Montelupo wet drug jar, late 17th century; painted with drug name SY DI HISOPO (syrup of Hissop, for coughs) below badge on blue and white ground, boldly scrolling foliage in blue and ochre; green handle below which is a roundel with a brown lion(?) crowned with a helmet; repair and cracks on rim, paint chipped on handle and body.
