Saddle

Description

Saddle, c. 1600-1700. Large pack saddle, the upper side covered with coarse natural linen (?) woven with blue/brown stripes, and the under side covered with natural plain weave linen. Holes in the fabric reveal filling of straw and wool. There are 8 metal rings (possibly more) sewn onto fabric on the top side; higher end of the saddle is finished with a padded leather roll.
