Description

Cap or hood, c. 1600-1630. Woman's cap or hood, made from eight sections of white/cream plain weave linen, joined by cream lace insertions, with cap edges trimmed with similar lace. (Cap very similar to this in design and construction is at Manchester City Galleries - Gallery of English Costume - and is dated to 1600-1620.)
