Description

Infant's dress, c. 1850-1900. Infant's dress or long gown, with centre back opening fastening with 2 buttons and drawstring at neck and waist. Bodice front is decorated with white-work embroidery and drawn thread work. The skirt features a central panel decorated with bands of pin tucks embroidered with white thread. Hem and edges of central panel are trimmed with broderie anglaise, and neck and cuffs are edged with lace. (Came from the Staite family of Perry Barr, Birmingham.)
