Description

Candlestick, c. 1590-1610. Candlestick; brass; `Flanders' type; probably Flemish but possibly English; waisted conical base, apex continues lina above a wide drip pan; slender stem with three knops rises into slightly flared socket; double vertical ejection slots in socket base, with small circular appertures above each vertical slot; base and drip pan are cast in one piece; solid stem turned to shape, inserted into base and peened over.
