Picture plaque of Shakespeare's Birthplace c.1840; worked in white-metal plate, possibly tin; view is of house from Henley Street, before restoration, with neighbouring houses still extant; the main design is punched through from the reverse and the detail engraved; worked along the bottom in punched letters is 'BIRTHPLACE OF SHAKESPEARE STRATFOR ON AVON'; makers name-punch 'CC BAYLEY' on bottom right of image; framed and glazed.
