Urine Pot

Description

Jug or urine pot, c. 1500-1600. Pot of Midlands yellow-ware, glazed earthenware; traces of calcification on interior; applied strap handle. A label written on paper and attached to the base of the pot reads: 'Excavated at the site of The Blue Bear, Market Place, Nottingham 1971. This has been the site of an inn since the 11th Century and these vessels were undoubedly (sic) used at the inn. They were derived from potteries within 20 miles of the site'.
