Wooden Doll

Description

Doll, c.1600-1700. Doll of walnut wood; primitively carved; the back only rudimentarily shaped; hair short and/or covered with head-dress of some form; hands clasped to front; mid-calf length dress decorated with crescents; a necklace is carved low on chest; bare four-toed feet; block base; hands, breasts and nose are worn smooth; base split through into one foot.
