Shakespeare Memo Game

Description

Game, c. 1998. A card game contained in a lidded cardboard box and originally consisting of 36 pairs of cards (the donor noticed after buying the game that two cards were missing) featuring various Shakespeare-related illustrations. The cards are accompanied by a (multilingual) rules booklet, with a picture of each illustration used on the cards. This booklet describes the rules of the game as follows: ' All the cards are turned face down. In each round each player turns two cards face up so that all the other players can see them. If a player uncovers two cards with the same picture, he keeps them and turns over two more cards. If they are not identical, they must be returned to their original position on the table. The player with the most pairs of identical cards wins. Thus, it is important to remember the positions of all the cards on the table.' Sold by 'Past Times', Stratford-on-Avon.
