Armchair

Description

A mid 17th-century walnut and pine upholstered armchair; the rectangular back covered with gros point embroidery nailed over panel and uprights; the straight octagonal-section arms raised on conforming support; the upholstered rectangular seat covered with the same embroidery; raised on column-turned legs with moulded H-stretchers and turned feet; French, about 1640; lower sections of all legs and all stretchers replaced.
