Description

A watercolour by John Masey Wright O.W.S. (Old Watercolour Society) (1777-1866) illustrating a scene in 'The Tempest', Act I Scene. 2, showing Prospero, Ariel and Miranda and illustrating the lines 'Prospero -'Approach my Ariel, come! (Enter) Ariel 'All hail, Great Master'. Previously loaned for the Shakspeare Centre exhibition 'Illustrating Shakespeare: the Art of John Masey Wright (1777-1866) and Contemporaries' (1.11.2001-16.1.2002). Framed and glazed.
