Verona textile panel

Description

Section of figurative textile pattern mounted on panel; designed by Tibor Reich 1960s-1970s. The repeated pattern features scenes and characters from various Shakespeare plays - Twelfth Night (Malvolio in cross gartering, kissing his hand, watched by Olivia and Maria); Hamlet; Richard III; Romeo and Juliet (balcony scene) Julius Caesar, or more probably Coriolanus. What is probably the fight between Tybalt and Mercutio is shown in the foreground.
