Square-headed brooch

Description

A small square-headed, or cruciform brooch; bronze, with trace of iron pin, Anglo-Saxon, 6th-century AD. The brooch has triangular punched ornaments around the outer edge, five concentric circles on the headplate and three concentric circles on the footplate. One of a pair of brooches found in grave of a female, under chin on left shoulder., Index card describes as one of 'Two small long (?) brooches (cruciform) with trace of iron pin'
