plaque - Quatercentenery
Description
Commemorative plaque designed and created by Paul Vincze. Commissioned by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Only the obverse of the plaque is decorated: Shakespeare's face is shown within an oval border in the centre with depictions of the Globe and Swan theatres on either side. Below the theatres, and on either side of the Ben Jonson quote (which appears on a scroll) are the masks of comedy and tragedy.
