An early 19th-century oil painting by Thomas Stothard rendered in vivid colours, depicting a scene in the Forest of Arden from Shakespeare's 'As You Like It'. The setting and garments of the four figures in the painting is of the classical style; on the right two figures (Rosalind and Orlando?) embrace whilst a male figure stands in the foreground. On the left, a female stands and grasps a tree trunk. Unglazed and mounted in the gilt frame.
