Armchair
Description
A late 17th century oak armchair; the pediment-shaped cresting-panel with edge moulding, above two plain panels in moulded framing; flanked by scrolled earpieces crudely carved with leaves; the flat shaped arms raised on baluster-turned supports; the two-plank moulded and tapered seat on moulded rails; raised on conforming baluster-turned legs, united by moulded stretchers; English, about 1680; incorporating re-used timber and with some later repairs, including top of right-hand upright and part of right-hand foot-block.
