Ludford Tea Chest

Description

Late eighteenth-century tea chest; mulberry wood. Thomas Sharp made this chest from the mulberry tree which Shakespeare was reputed to have planted at New Place, Stratford-upon-Avon. The tea chest was presented by the Corporation of Stratford to the town's deputy recorder John Ludford.
