Shakespeare Connected - Imagining New Place

9. New Imaginings

The New Place site was re-imagined and opened to the public by The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in 2016. Visitors are invited to 'follow Shakespeare's footsteps' through the new gatehouse into the courtyard and the area where the main house once stood. The newly created gardens contain numerous commissioned artworks and tactile displays. This modern and artistic interpretation of New Place shows how important this site remains to people all over the world.
