Artist Biography

“My name is Isabelle, I'm 5 and in Reception at Briar Hill Infant School. I really enjoy drawing and going to my gymnastic and bike club. I'm persevering to do hand stands and ride without my stabilizers.”

About the Picture

“I loved painting my Shakespeare portrait; drawing is amazing it makes me feel so happy inside. First I looked at lots of different pictures of Shakespeare and illustrations by Quentin Blake. I drew the outline in pencil and then pen, it was hard to make Shakespeare's head big enough. Next I painted it with watercolour paints from a palette - that was fun because I hadn't used them before. I thought my painting looked just like Shakespeare.”
