Biography

My name is Emily and I am ten-years-old. I like to play chess and get active. I used to play the recorder but now I play the saxophone. I like to be creative and I like making things.

About my diary

I coffee-stained paper to make the paper look old. I chose Hamnet because I thought it would be fun (but dramatic) to do the lead up to his death. I needed to find out what Hamnet died of and what the symptoms of it was.

 

Tell us how it felt to make your diary

I found it fun to make the old looking paper. I also loved rubbing on some ashes to add to the effect. I enjoyed imagining what it was like in those times.

What did you find most interesting about Shakespeare's family?

I found it interesting that Hamnet died so young. I would like to find out how no-one else in Hamnet’s family caught his illness.
