Sharing Shakespeare's Story

Sniffing Interactive

Shakespeare’s world was very different to ours, it even smelt different. To re-create the aroma of the Birthplace, as Shakespeare would have known it, we have some “sniff and discover” boxes in the house featuring the scents of urine, manure and leather. Both urine and manure were used to soften leather, a key component of many items in Shakespeare’s world, including the gloves in his father’s glove shop.

It's really cool because when you smell the holes you can smell different things.
