Who created it?

Ryan, age 11

Biography

“I am Ryan. I have just turned eleven years-old. I love Pokemon and now I have written this rap I am looking to make some songs next. I really like snuggling with my dogs.”

My creative response

Ryan’s Rap

This is a story all about me,

With all of the things that make me happy.

Pokémon, gaming, Nintendo switch,

It’s all ok until there’s a glitch.

Tuna sandwiches all day long,

Best day ever – when it’s a foot long!

I love running about on the football pitch,

It’s all fun and games until there’s a stitch.

Watch this space when I’m in defence,

It’s the best place for me, it just makes sense.

I’m happiest when watching YouTube,

Or figuring out a puzzle on my Rubix cube,

Charzard, Blastoize, they’re all lots of fun,

Winning the battle ending up number one.

Monty, Neo, Hera, Oli,

Four favourite pups that make me feel jolly.

I am kind, I don’t pretend,

I will be your friend until the end.

My baby sister is as beautiful as a flower,

My love for her is higher than a tower.

My nan, grandad, mum are the best,

Far better than all the rest.

Encouraging me all the time,

Lifting me up and making me shine.

So this is the story all about me,

With all of the things that make me happy.

About my creative response

“My rap represents what makes me me. I have never written anything like this before but I really enjoyed thinking about all my favourite things and writing them down in this way. I just wanted to find a way to include all of my favourite things.”

When have you been ‘true to yourself’?

“I always try to be myself but it is hard when you want to try and fit in.”

What is your favourite Shakespeare play?

“I really enjoyed The Tempest because of Ariel stuck in the tree and the wizard. This is the one I remember the story of the most.”
