Biography

“I am nine years-old and a British, Muslim, Asian girl, living with my Mum and Dad and cat in London. I love everything to do with music, drama and dance as well as arts and crafts. I can read Arabic and also play the piano. I love trying new things and being creative.”

My creative response

Amelia’s Animation

About my creative response

“I wanted to do something that wasn’t a still, flat image because that only shows one moment in time. So I created an animation because it shows the way that a person can change and grow as they get older. My animation also shows who I am both on the inside and out. It shows that I am all the things and people I love, also the things that I am passionate about and want to learn.”

When have you been ‘true to yourself’?

"I feel I have been my true self a lot, especially when I am with people I am close to because I feel safe. I love to sing and have never stopped because it makes me happy. I have had people say things about it when I was younger but I never let that stop me and stayed true to myself.”

What are your favourite Shakespeare quotes?

My favourite Shakespeare quotes are:

‘Though she be but little, she be fierce.’

‘Love looks, not with the eyes but with the mind.'

“I like both these quotes from A Midsummer Night’s Dream because they are about being strong and also looking at what the person is about and stands for and not about how they look.”
