Biography

I am Joshua, I am six years-old. I like snails and making homes for them. I have one sister and one brother and we like going on nature walks with our cameras and taking pictures, sometimes we make stories up using our pictures.

About my Shakespeare-inspired book

I made my Shakespeare book about A Midsummer Night's Dream because I loved the story and how the different characters linked together. I thought Bottom was the funniest because his head got turned into a donkey's head. I spent time reading and watching the story and doing timelines of the story to get to know the characters. We acted it out with toys to help us see the various links between characters.

What did you enjoy about making your book?

I liked experimenting with how to make the characters pop up and learning how to draw different looking characters. It is exciting to be able to create my own book as I love reading stories.

What is your favourite Shakespeare play, character or quote?

My favourite Shakespeare play is A Midsummer Night's Dream. I thought Bottom’s character was funny because his head was like a donkeys! I also loved Puck because he is so cheeky and I like being cheeky too!
