Edstone in Wootton Wawen deeds: Archer of Tanworth

Description

Two title deeds on same piece of parchment: 1.) Gift with warranty by Philip of Aylesbury to Richard [...] Grannge, chaplain, of his manor in the vill of le Edrycheston [Edstone] with all obligations belonging to it, and also all his land and tenements, rents and reversions, and the services of all his tenants, both free and unfree, in the vill and the fields of Marston Botiller [Marston Butler], Wythenhay, Dodeston and Toneworthe. To hold of chief lords of those fees for the due services which are by right accustomed. Witnesses: John Jones, John Wedewesone, William Smythe, John Tyscote, William de le Heye. Given: at Edrycheston [Edstone] on the Sunday after the feast day of St Laurence the martyr, 28 Edward III [17 August 1354]. Latin. 2.) Gift with warranty by Richard atte Graunge, chaplain, to Philip of Aylesbury and Agnes his wife of all those lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services which he has had by gift and feoffment of the aforesaid Philip in the county of Warwick.
