Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton Verney, a confirmation

Description

Confirmation by Thomas Verney of Compton Verney, esq., in fulfilment of and agreement between himself and George Rauleyghe of Farmeboroughe [Farnborough], Warwickshire, dated 5 May, and granting to William Conyngesby, esq., Roger Wyggyston, esq., Edward Gaynsford, gent and Leonard Savage, three pastures with appurtenances within the demesne of Compton aforesaid, called Westfyld, Myllfeld and Great Meade. Also closes and windmill in Chesterton.

To hold the same from the chief lord of the fee for services due and accustomed, to the sole use of Thomas Verney for life and then to Richard Verney, son of Thomas, and Frances his wife and the heirs of their bodies. 'by me Thomas Verney' Dated 21 May, 31 Henry VIII
