Burton Dassett: early deeds, Knightcote, a grant

Description

Grant by Thomas, son of David of Paylington to William, son of Simon of Knightcote, for homage, service and twenty three marks sterling in hand paid, of messuage, toft, croft and half virgate of land, with hedges, ditches, meadows, pastures, ways, easements c. within the town and fields of Knightcote and beyond. All of which John Champneys formerly held in Knightcote.

To hold of grantor and heirs with power of gift or sale, paying 2d annually on St Andrews day to grantor his heirs or assigns in lieu of service, saving only foreign service for the king.
