Archer of Tanworth

Description

Volume containing: i) 1767: copy will of Thomas Lord Archer, Baron of Umberslade, with bequests to his son, Andrew Archer and his sons-in-law, Other Lewis Earl of Plymouth and Edward Earl of Winterton and his brother Henry Archer, esq., as trustees for Andrew Archer's wife, with remainder, either to their sons in tail male or to his daughters as tenants in common. ii) 17 April 1742: copy will of Thomas Archer of Hale, co. Hants., esquire, with bequests of an annuity to his wife Ann, his lease of the manor of King's Norton to his nephew, Thomas Archer, eldest son of his brother, Andrew Archer, and to Henry Archer, the second son, the manor of Ratley (on condition it be let to a farmer, and if not, then to the third son, Daniel Archer), and property in Childockford, Leason, Nidson and Littels, co. Dorset, Inkberrow, co. Worc., Hale and North and South Charford, co. Hants., Downton, co. Wilts., and Lodge Farm (held by lease of Corpus Christi College, Oxford), Beaudesert, Henley-in-Arden, Warwick and Budbrooke, land called Weathercock Hill in King's Norton and Alvechurch, co. Worcs., Grosvenor Square, Bond Street, Duke Street, Pedley Street and Cross Street, co. Middx.; with money bequests to other relatives. Codicil, dated 17 May 1743, leaving any other estates he has purchased since 17 April 1742 to his nephew, Henry Archer, and with remainder, in default of issue, to his nephew, Thomas Archer. iii) 5 November 1764: copy will of Henry Archer (DR473/16).
